Arson is suspected as the cause of a number of wheelie bin fires in Penzance on Wednesday.
Firefighters from the town were called to the Promanade and Gwavas Road areas at 5.20am.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fires.
A Cornwall Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Arson is suspected and Devon and Cornwall Police have been informed.
“Nuisance wheelie bin fires are a problem in some neighbourhoods, typically causing damage of up to £1,650 including damage to buildings, cleaning up and the cost of replacement.”
