Fest Kernewek

Saturday 15th June 2019 at 12:00 PM
Heartlands, Redruth

A one day festival of Cornish language music and poetry at Heartlands Cornwall.

Fest Kernewek began with an idea: to create a place where those who speak or are learning Cornish can get together and enjoy a day of celebration of our shared culture. Our key goals are affordability and inclusivity. We do not want our festival to only be open to a select few, but to welcome everyone no matter their level in the language, no matter how Cornish they feel. If you are asking if this festival is for you, the answer is YES, it is. Even if you have no words of Cornish what-so-ever, you will find plenty to enjoy.

We have a fantastic line up of Cornish musical talent, ranging from traditional folk, to psychedelic rock and more. Not to mention Cornish language poetry, stalls, food and drink, and activities for kids and families – some of which will even be free to access on the day. There truly is something for everyone at Fest Kernewek.

The festival will take place on June 15th 2019 at Heartlands, Pool. The venue has a lot to offer by itself, including a museum, cafe and shops (Such as the wonderful Cornish Language store Kowsva, where you can buy all sorts of Kernewek goodies).
We cannot wait to see you this summer. Keep an eye on our social media for upcoming line-up announcements! Dha welles yn skon!
