Elderly driver dies after his car hits parked vehicles in Penzance

A man in his 80s has died after the car he was driving hit several parked vehicles in Penzance.

Police were called at 5.10pm on Friday 7 December following reports of a road traffic collision in the town.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “The incident, which happened on Heamoor Road, involved a Silver Toyota Aygo and a parked black panel van. A second report was received later where the same Toyota was in collision with two parked cars in Reens Crescent.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the Toyota, a man in his 80s, was taken to Treliske hospital. He later passed away on Saturday 8 December whilst in hospital.”

Police are asking witness or anyone who saw a Silver Toyota Aygo in the area at the time to call 101 quoting incident log number 672, of Friday 7 December.
