Two injured in Penzance car park attack

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Penzance.

The incident happened between 10pm and 10.30pm on Monday 17 September at Wharfside Car Park. The female victim was walking with two friends when they were assaulted by a man and woman.

The 18-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. She has since returned home. Another female was treated at the scene for minor injuries. 

PC Ben James said: “We know that there were a number of people in the car park at the time of the incident.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, and anyone with information to come forward and speak to police.”

A 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were later arrested on suspicion of assault. They were later released under investigation pending further enquires.
