Man charged following Penzance church fires

Police officers investigating two fires at a church in Penzance have charged a man with arson.

The police and fire service were called to two incidents at St Mary the Virgin Church in Chapel Street on 24 November and 3 December. 

A 45-year-old man from Penzance has been charged with two counts of arson. 

He has been released on police bail and is due to appear before Truro Magistrates’ Court on Monday 7 January 2019.
